Hello, everyone! Time to reactivate the blog, as we plan our return trip to Ecuador in 2014.
We will travel with Mary's sister Carolyn and Carolyn's husband Ashley, to the Galapagos Islands for a week in March 2014, preceded by a week on the mainland of Ecuador near Cuenca.
During the mainland part of the tour we will be joined by our guide Roger, who will take us to the towns of Chordeleg, Sigsig and Gualaceo -- a little bit east and south of Cuenca. Roger was one of our guides in February. Roger is a former Peace Corps volunteer to Ecuador several decades back, and has returned to Ecuador to live. He lives north of Quito; we are lucky to have him come down to travel with us.
Since we returned home from Ecuador several months ago, we've given a number of talks to local groups about this fascinating, beautiful country. I hope to spread the word among these folks about our little blog; maybe will have a few more friends joining in.
